Nowadays music tastes very different for real fans of 70' rocks and 80's metals

The appetites and the demand for well-composed music are growing while all these days’ products are all commercials.

Bands are week and the music is vanishing while video tricks and special effects are all what we watch in video hits.

Shakira is the best seller just because of shaking her sexy body and Madonna rises again after over 10 years just due to her athletic body status when she is over 40 yrs old.

Other today’s stuffs are all about nudity or almost new born rappers, whom are potentials for their billionaire investors.

My people are starving just because MTV has forgotten that it stands for Music television rather than American life show. People are amused to what these influential shows feed them, they listen to this real junk-music just because listening-worth materials are not presented and are not liked to be shown.

Nowadays the global policy that is determined by world business deciding companies is opposing bands with lyrics other than sex, mankind stubborn power, the power that controls them all day long in shopping stores in work places and in home rest hours.

Life styles changes day by day and you are perfectly amused to life style lessons from your magic box to prepare for your tomorrow appearance in society.

Band like Beatles, Pink Floyd and Tools are replaced by the Pussy Cats, Black Eyed Pees and Toto, and musician like Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Roger Waters.... are replaced by hotties like Shakira , Gwen Stefani and 50cent.

I’m worried, yes I’m so worried, the Matrix has grown, the Net has conquered man, and we eat, dress, work, think and breathe like what the market demands (orders).

Its not all music faults however the music is an everyday part of our life and consequently influential.

a brief discuss about Rock status in Iran(1)

a critic about the role of vocalist in rock music

Music genres are played by their own instruments and their own professional players.

It is common that the players of one genre may not be able to play in another one and as a matter of fact I believe that there should be a same rule for the vocalists of each genre.

In Iran when we talk about classic or pop genres for example, this fact is so clear that everyone knows what voice skills are required for each one.

The Rock, Metal and Alternative genres of music are still strange to Iranians and couldn’t have found their place between Iranian musicians and as a result between amateur listeners. Since 7or 8 years ago there were a few attempts to create new age rocks or metals in Iran. Oham the band that started about 10 years ago as an underground band took the leadership in those attempts. Guitar players and drummers grew up everywhere especially in Tehran, Isfahan and Ahwaz and gradually the conditions became suitable for new bands to be born and as a result today there are several amateur bands playing this music.

Although the rock guitar players and drummers have had a noticeable growth in Iran, in my opinion, the vocalist role and especially the type of voice has been neglected through these years of rock music production. Almost all vocalists do not have an appropriate voice to sing rock and this point is a major vulnerability.

Today after passing these years of educating rock Esmail Esfandiari in my opinion undoubtedly came as a turning point in Iranian new age rock music. In fact he differs not only because of his genuinely guitar playing but also due to his knowledge over how to sing rock. His voice is absolutely the right type and he knows how to match it with his perfect guitar playing.

His first album is a real pure rock album and for sure his next tries will be better.

He proved that the future of rock in Iran is bright and we can hope for more progressive attempts. I finish this article.

Prehistory

Italy was traditionally dominated by melodic ballads that stemmed from its folk tradition. The Sixties were largely spent adapting that tradition to the new rhythms that were coming from Britain and the USA. The first "rock" bands appeared, but were mainly cover bands. The first original singer-songwriter was probably Piero Ciampi, whose Piero Italiano (1963) displayed the influence of the French "chansonniers" and little awareness of the Greenwich Movement.

Italy's main contribution to the psychedelic era was Le Stelle di Mario Schifano, a musical event put together by decadent-futurist pop artist Schifano the same way Andy Warhol put together the Velvet Underground. They improvised a cacophonous jam, Le Ultime Parole di Brandimarte (with the instructions "to be listened with the TV on and no volume"), off their only album Dedicato A (1967), one of the most experimental tracks of the time.

Charles Michael (Chuck) Schuldiner (May 13, 1967, Long Island, New York – December 13, 2001) was an American musician. He is best known for being the founder, singer, virtuoso rhythm/lead guitar player and main song writer of Death, which he founded in 1983 as Mantas. Much later, in 1998, he founded the band Control Denied. He was also an innovator and pioneer of death metal (even though the creation of the genre can be attributed to a few bands that preceded Death/Mantas) and was one of the most influential metal guitarists. His band Death was one of the first bands to implement jazz structure in Death Metal.
